Since our inaugural trip in 2004, great care has been taken to regularly conduct relief assessment tours of the regions through which we travel.
Originally our programs were designed after completing research and holding discussions with development organizations in Rajasthan in 2003 and early 2004. Since then we have used our field experience to develop new and far reaching programs for rural communities.
Our mission addresses some critical local needs:
- Eliminating blindness through our Give the Gift of Sight program, offering free cataract surgeries to rural communities. RRI provides an average of 100 free eye surgeries and 600 day treatments for those who have failed to qualify for the eye surgery.
- Dental Camps , staffed by four Dental Surgeons, providing 200 treatments and up to 50 minor surgeries and post care treatments per camp to villagers in rural communities.
- Free Medical Camps , staffed by our ophthalmologist, Ear Nose and Throat Specialist, Pediatrician, Dentist, Gynecologist and General Physician, treat an average of 600 villagers per camp for:
- Upper respiratory ailments
- Skin diseases
- Minor and major bacterial infections
- Gynecological issues and
- Dental health
- Pediatric Camps , providing de-worming medication and an interactive health and hygiene discussion to 1500 children per trip.
- Addressing hunger, through our Give a Goat Program, delivering goats to below poverty level families to create a sustainable food source.
- Educational Camps , provide 4-6 months worth of educational materials (our educational camps include sporting equipment which motivates kids to stay in school)
Relief Riders International and its team have been a leader in designing a unique travel experience blending adventure with humanitarian aid. We have designed all of these programs to provide you with opportunity to participate in a humanitarian mission without needing any previous medical experience.
“Relief Riders International is designed to offer individuals not only an exhilarating journey but the chance to use their skills, enthusiasm and experience to promote positive change. I know from my own travels to Rajasthan that for every gift I have given I have received gifts that have changed my life.”
Alexander Souri, Executive Director, RRI & RWI
